Illamasqua Blush in Hussy

This is my first Illamasqua product, nothing else really called out to me before and I was put off by their "edgy" product names...I am not too pleased with this shade being called "Hussy" but it's pretty tame compared to some of their other/past product names ("Throb" and "Load" I'm looking at you...). I just couldn't turn down this shade and formula so despite the name I picked it up~. It leans a bit more orange in these pictures, but it definitely is on the pinker side of the spectrum.

I am loving matte blushes (and eyeshadows) lately, and this is no exception! It apply smoothly and not chalky at all due to being very finely milled, however powder gets ALL OVER the compact when you put your brush in it. Not a huge deal, but it's kind of irritating. That won't stop me from getting more Illamasqua blushes though, it's not very easy to find so many nice shades of matte blush.

  1. I wish I could see this in person! Rarely do I order without trying something on but Illamasqua has yet to fail me when I do. Ok, maybe Im a sick mommy because I want collect all the ones that have "dirty" names just for the fun of it lol (I'll never grow up lol)

  2. I've not tried illamasqua yet, their adverts and promotions never seem to catch my eye.... And they are a bit on the pricey side too!

  3. @ Mercedes - Your Sephora doesn't carry it? Boo! It's really nice...if you want to order it just order it, it's really the perfect color if you like corals! And I love that it's matte.

Regarding the names, I am not a prude or anything I just like my makeup girly and feminine...although that's not really Illamasqua's angle, which is why I buy what I like from them anyway...I just don't enjoy the packaging/naming like I do others.

@ Carla - I don't really like their company outlook on a whole (although I respect that they go against the grain and take artistic risks), but their blush (and other items from what I've heard) is definitely quality! As for the pricing it's not any worse than other blushes of that quality, it's just about the same price as Tarte/Benefit/Etc.
