Bath & Body Works Halloween Liplicious Lip Gloss

I know it's a bit late for these, but I thought it'd be fun to talk about these Halloween lip glosses a little bit for halloween. Well, not really much to say about them, they are sweet tasting, sticky and don't last too long, the colors are a lot of fun though! If you can find these on clearance at your Bath & Body Works, don't hesitate to pick them up!

Hard Candy Glossaholic Lipgloss in Gorgeous

I heard that this Hard Candy Glossaholic lipgloss had flakies in it so I had to try it even though I recently realized I hate glitter lipgloss (well pretty much anything with glitter, I love shimmer though).

The flakie shimmer is very funky and unique, but I don't think I will purchase this stuff again as it's the first lipgloss I've ever worn that has had glitter migrate like crazy, and it's stuck to you like glue too. It got all over my chin, then my neck/chest, then my son, then my husband. It got on to my husband FROM my son, not from me kissing him by the way.

My only regret is that I didn't get the "Chill Out" one because it has these crazy blue flakies, but I decided to not get it in addition to "Gorgeous" (I only saw "Chill Out" after I got "Gorgeous") because of my eternal hatred of glitter even though in theory I like it I know it'll turn into a big mess.

I am not saying people shouldn't get this stuff, or it's bad. It's not sticky but it does have a chemically sweet taste but if you like flavored gloss the taste is not unusual, I am just picky. I think if you happen to be at a Walmart or are doing a Hard Candy haul you should go for it since it's unique, or if you are a lover of glitter lip gloss.

Too Faced Mirror Mirror Gloss

So you got a little peek of Damn I'm Hot in a previous post...the tube anyway. Well, it's pretty hard to capture it on the lips since it just adds the faintest wash of red but I got Envy Me today, which is a grape purple that shows up a bit more on the lips. It looks pretty intense in the tube but since it's so sheer on the lips you just get a nice plummy wash (more like prune though).

The formula of the Mirror Mirror Gloss is very nice, not sticky at all but sticks to your lips for a long time (hours) and stays at a high shine for a long time as well. It also has some antioxidants in it but honestly how much are you really getting here...but I guess it can't hurt to have it! I also like that it has a slanted tip applicator rather than a brush or doe foot since I am lazy like that sometimes!

All in all I love this stuff, I got it for about $6 at Nordstrom Rack although the full price is a bit more than twice that much. Not sure if i could pay full price after getting such a good deal on it, but I think it's worth the full price if you can't find it on sale. It's very nice indeed and a rather large tube as well.

Can you guess which finger I broke a nail on? :(

Milani Baked Blushes + 3D Glitzy Glamor Gloss

Finally I am getting around to updating, jeez! Finally got back into the groove. I guess I wasn't feeling it for a little while, I couldn't think of where to start!

I love these goodies from Milani so I wanted to spread the love...the lip glosses, not so much (not that they are bad), but I definitely want to talk a bit about the blushes. I don't actually have any high-end blushes to compare them to, but the pigmentation and lasting power is amazing. A little goes a long way, and lasts me the whole day! The glosses are not bad, the effect is nice but the glitter is a bit gritty. These are nice when you want your lips to sparkle and pop :). Ok, but back to the blush...amaaaazing. I have 3 colors; Corallina, Pink Dolche and Berry Amore. Corallina is my favorite, it's a bright coral that is just pink enough and has such a pretty shimmer. Pink Dolce is a baby/candy pink with gold shimmer which is something I love love LOVE. Berry Amore is a darker color, even though it's called berry and looks berry in the pan. Weird, but it's a nice color anyway :).

As usual, please click on the pictures to enlarge for all the detail!

Corallina blended on my cheek with my finger.

Heavy swatches in different light to show the color/sparkles. Front to back: Corallina, Berry Amore and Pink Dolce.

Swatch of the lip glosses. Left to Right: In Vogue, Fashion Diva. Fashion Diva is the one to get if you had to choose only one. Definitely the neatest in the line minus Movie Star which is pretty impossible to find in a store.

OPI Silver Shatter + Mermaid Tears (Special Guest Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lip Gloss)

At long last I've finally got my OPI Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides polishes! I only got 2 so far though, of course I got Silver Shatter and naturally I got Mermaid Tears. Next time I'll get Sparrow Me The Drama and that's it, none of the other colors really wowed me in person. I was already wanting Silver Shatter a lot, but I actually like it even more than I was expecting when I put it over Mermaid Tears, it's just the perfect combo!

A couple pictures of the combo on my nails. I really like it. Silver Shatter is much better than black shatter in my opinion. Less bold and "punk".

Guerlain Terracotta Gloss in Salsa & Clinique Long Last Glosswear in Clearly Pink

Even though I like those Milani 3D Glitzy Glamour Glosses (which I will post about later) I am kind of done with sparkly lip gloss right now. They are fun but for some reason clear gloss has just been calling to me lately, especially as something to wear every day (sparkles are cool but not something I will constantly reach for). Ever since I first saw the promo pictures for the Guerlain Terra Inca Gloss in Salsa I've been wanting it pretty badly (ok this is only like a week but still). I'll still probably get a Balmshell gloss in the future as my every day gloss like that though, since sadly this Guerlain is LE since it's from their summer collection that just came out.

Having said that, if I can get more nice Guerlain glosses I certainly would. This might be my favorite gloss ever. I just put it on so I can't say anything about wear time yet but it's the smoothest least sticky gloss I've ever felt that wasn't claiming to be a balm. Even then it's much smoother. I am going to take a guess and say that this probably isn't a long-lasting gloss since as most lip gloss fans know that long-last lipglosses usually last so darned long because they are so sticky! EDIT: I have now worn this for longer periods of time and it stays nice for a couple hours at least (with no eating), that's quite something considering the non-sticky and moisturizing quality of this gloss.

Such as the other lip gloss I got last night, Clinique Long Last Glosswear in Clearly Pink. It's sticky (but definitely not that bad at all) but it does last a long time and is very sheer, which is why I chose that color since I got it to wear over my fancy Dior and Armani lipsticks (I didn't want the gloss to overshadow the lipstick). I've decided no matter how fancy they are I just can't wear plain lipstick. I could probably wear the Dior on it's own but it's got so much glitter in it that I need gloss to smooth it out. And just in the end I am a gloss girl all the way.

Isn't the Guerlain tube super pretty? I'm definitely not tossing it ever lol. I have to say, it was definitely a big selling point for me.

Not the best colored picture (color is kind of washed out) since it's the front-facing camera on my iPhone 4... My top lip is "nude" and my bottom lip has the Guerlain gloss. As you can see it's a pretty sheer "my lips but better" color. At first I was a bit disappointed it wasn't more opaque but I think it's a really flattering look now. Glad I didn't get the red since I think this "matches" my lip color really well so as to brighten it. Guerlain's official blurb seems to claim what I've experienced so it's definitely lived up to it's claims, a huge A+ from me here!

Here are swatches of the lipglosses I got, the lighter being Clinique and the darker neon being Guerlain, I think this shows better than my in-tube picture the difference in color.

Balmshell Consolation Prize

A while back I entered Balmshell's "What's In Your Purse" contest, but I didn't win (just my luck as usual) but being awesome they offered to send everybody who entered a consolation prize. Last night I got it, it's a 40% off coupon and a pack of 4 itty bitty lip gloss samples. Now I LOVE miniatures so I was very excited because it even has the little doe's foot applicator and everything but is just so teeny! I love it. I haven't tried it out yet but I just had to gush about how cute it is. Depending on how the samples go I will see about using that 40% off coupon :).

Clinique Color Surge Quad "Spicy" + Gift With Purchase

So I finally caved and went for the Clinique gift with purchase. The item I bought was the Color Surge Eye Shadow Quad in "Spicy". I was a doofus at first though and asked for "Pink Chocolate" when I got home I was very disappointed as there was almost no pigmentation for any of the colors but when I tried it on my arm in the shop there was plenty. That's when I FINALLY realized my stupid mistake (read the name of the quad below it...or above it, I forgot) and took it back the next day. Spicy is MUCH much better. Don't ever get Pink Chocolate guys, even though the name is super cute.

Bronze, Gold, Brown, Rose. All shimmery.

Swatched on my arm in the same order in direct sunlight, in my car because I couldn't wait to swatch it and make sure it was the right one.

I also chose the pink set of the gift with purchase, which came with small and large makeup bags, moisturizer, eye/lip makeup remover, black mascara and these 2 beauties:

Eye shadow duo + Blush.

Lipstick + Long wear lip gloss.

Almost There...

Well my makeup bag is getting a bit better... believe it or not this IS actually better. I took out all the lip gloss I had as well as eyeshadow. I'll have to take a picture of how I organized all my makeup in the bathroom later, I didn't think to take a picture after I finished organizing it last night. I really want one of the makeup organizers that I saw at Target last night, but it was like $10 and it's not like I don't have anything (that I got cheaper at Daiso too) to organize with so I just couldn't justify it right now... At least I know where I can get something like that now :).

After organizing I realized I actually don't have all that many lip glosses, which is good in a way because I was feeling a bit guilty every time I get a new one because I already had a lot! Now if there is a lip gloss I want I don't feel like I am wasting money on it so much. Also with this new way of using my lip gloss (not hoarding them in my purse) I might actually use them all more often to even further justify getting more >:D

Anyways, I just couldn't part with all my lip treatments, so I put the bulk of them in my makeup bag...at least I actually use those things, unlike lip gloss which I really only need 1 of at a time.

Of course I still need several items readily available in the inside pocket of my purse, but ever so slightly less, and I've decided to take my Rosebud Salve off my desk and keep it in my purse instead since it's so good and I don't want to only be able to use it at work.

Help! I Hoard Makeup in My Purse!!

I am having a bit of a makeup crisis lately, by that I mean I always get more (especially things I am really weak for like lip gloss) and I always hoard it in my purse.

Beleive it or not, this is the contents of my makeup bag AFTER weeding out a ton of lip glosses. After some thinking, and going over it with friends I think I'll just leave the blush (which I apply after I get to work because I do the bare minimum at home), tweezers, mirror, lotion, blotting papers and brush/combs and rotate through lip glosses.

Here is my big issue, these are my "can't live without/use often" items, which I keep in a pocket in my purse to get to easily.

I feel like this is also a bit much but I like to have a bit of everything just in case, and I love them all it's so hard to choose! This is actually after weeding things out and putting them in the makeup bag...I moved the Fresh Sugar Plum and the Tarte 24.7. They would actually still be part of this group but it didn't fit in the pocket of my purse any more, and the other pocket was a little too big so they'd fall out.

At least with lip gloss I don't always feel like wearing it so it'd be a little easier to choose one per day, but sometimes I end up using all of these things at some point in the day (after another item wears off of course).
